It's time to get creative in Al Seef Street.
Leading Emirati artists work under the stars to bring art to life during the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF). Art Avenue, being officially opened tonight at 6.30pm, was the brainchild of the Dubai Cultural Council and spans almost the entire length of Al Seef Street.
Open air
Open from 4pm to 10pm daily, the open air exhibition includes artwork by leading Emirati and resident artists and runs until February 24.
With sculptures, painters, henna tattoo designers and puppeteers, the avenue has something for people of all ages. Children can take part in Art Attack workshops, giving them the chance to pick up tips from the experts.
Taking part
People can try their hand at clay-pot making or even have a go at staging their own puppet theatre show.
Ahmad Kutin, 41, visited Art Avenue with his 15-year-old son Mo. The business development manager, who has lived in Dubai for 18 years, said: "This is a very nice addition to the DSF activities. I have really enjoyed taking part in the art workshops and had no idea that making a clay pot was so hard. I made a complete mess but we had lots of fun."
