Thousands of Tamer Hosni's fans gathered from all over the UAE for the singer's concert at Dubai Media City amphitheatre on Friday night.
The concert was not only Tamer's first in Dubai, but in all GCC countries, and although his audience didn't know what to expect, to say that they were pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. Tamer proved he was an all-round entertainer, and a fine cross between a singer and a comedian, not to mention dancer and musician.
Record time
He appeared onstage only half an hour late, which is a record time for Arab singers, who usually start at least two hours late. This led to some of the audience missing the first part of the concert, as they were not expecting him to start before 11pm.
However, Tamer made it up for them.
For almost three hours, Tamer sang non-stop, and dedicated his songs to beautiful girls, faithful lovers, mothers and almost everyone. His fans, in turn, were so eager to show their excitement. Not only did they dance and cheer throughout the concert, but they knew the lyrics of Tamer's songs by heart, and didn't wait for him to start singing before they sang along.
Before he left, Tamer promised his fans that he would meet them in Dubai every year, and if the huge success of Tamer's first concert is anything to go by, they will keep coming back for more.
