Dubai: Police have asked residents and tourists to carpool when visiting Dubai Shopping Festival venues because this will curb congestion.
Brigadier Mohammad Eid Al Mansouri, Director of the Dubai Police Organisation, Protective Security and Emergency Department, said policemen have been briefed on the festival and deployed at various venues.
He said Dubai Police has taken into consideration the large number of people who will visit DSF and the Global Village specifically and made arrangements accordingly.
Brigadier Al Mansouri said the committee has specified offices at all locations to receive public complaints. He said police will work round the clock and provide services visitors need to get to their locations easily. He called on the public to approach the offices in case they need help or speak to the nearest policeman available.
Brigadier Al Mansouri warned the public and motorists against watching fireworks while driving at the same time. He urged them to be careful while passing near locations where fireworks are being launched from and to lookout for pedestrians there, especially children.
He also asked the public to cooperate with police and follow their instructions, especially regarding traffic, since policemen are aware of the easiest routes.
