The Wellbeing Show 2007 was not just for fitness fanatics, or healthy parents who only feed babies organic food. It was for everyone in every sense of the word.

With experts from all over the world giving talks and seminars on everything from Feng Shui to Hypnobirthing, the show made sure every visitor would find something of interest.

Success

Local personality Dave Crane kick-started day three — yesterday — with a talk titled The Secret to Your Success. There was also a flight academy demonstration plus a discussion on living with electro pollution.

But it wasn't until noon that the show really found its beat. The stage came to life as more than 30 people discovered their inner rhythm at a Dubai Drums session.

Beat it

Leader Julie-Ann asked people who wanted to have a go (and a few who weren't sure) to take an African drum for the first time and make music.

In a burst of energy she jumped into the middle of the circle and said: "Many people believe to make music we must be academically trained.

"We all have heart beats. Therefore, we all have a natural rhythm. Now let's find yours."

Within seconds of the group pounding out the downbeat, a strong, steady beat that is repeated throughout the session, the audience was clapping along and then chanting and cheering.

Plenty of people

Elsewhere, there were plenty of visitors learning about products and services promoting wellbeing. Representatives attended from a wide variety of businesses and organisations.

Grace E Salam, from Dubai, is a feng shui expert. She said she has worked with such leaders as Hillary Clinton and Tony Blair.

She said: "I have very much enjoyed the show and think this year has been the biggest and best so far. They will only get better as far as I'm concerned. It's a winning formula as people have become so health-conscious."
