A lone falcon looks out at the desert. A camel crosses the horizon in the heat. Children play together in traditional dress in the sand. These are just a few of the haunting images catching the eye of passers-by at Dubai Airport Expo during DSF.
The artistic snapshots of life in the UAE have been caught on camera by 27 professional photographers for the Photos of the Past exhibition, organised by Dubai Ports and Customs Authority.
With 120 black-and-white snapshots, the display offers a mix of perspectives from artists who are aged 18 to 35 and are largely from the UAE as well as Iraq, Canada and East Asia.
Organiser Maitha Sagar Al Marri said the aim of the exhibition was to encourage the talented youth of the UAE to find interest in their rich heritage.
Proceeds from the exhibition, staged in the western hall of the Dubai Airport Exhibition Centre, will be donated to the Ras Al Khaimah Special Ability Centre.
The exhibition is open daily from 10am to 10pm on weekdays and 4pm to 11pm on Fridays for the duration of DSF.
