Doha: UAE President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan returned yesterday from Doha after attending the summit.
Shaikh Khalifa in a cable sent to Qatar's Emir Shaikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani shortly after his departure, expressed his pleasure over the outcome of the Doha summit, indicating that "they will boost the joint work of GCC at all levels".
He also thanked Shaikh Hamad for the good preparations for the summit, the warm reception and hospitality given to the UAE delegation by the government and the people of Qatar.
"Your good preparations and management of the summit have their impact on the good results reached at the summit," Shaikh Khalifa said.
Meanwhile, Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed of Oman also thanked Qatar's Emir for his efforts to make the summit a success, indicating that the Sultanate of Oman is looking forward to hosting the next summit.
Emir of Qatar expressed his pleasure about the brotherly spirit which dominated the deliberations at the summit, adding that it stemmed from "our belief about unity and common destiny". "What is achieved in this summit reflects determination of the GCC to proceed ahead with strong will to achieve better future," he said.
