The Creek extension to the Arabian Gulf through Business Bay will provide an alternative mode of water transport for residents and tourists.

The extended part of the creek will be part of Dubai's ambitious plan of water transport, as it will be used by private boats as well as ferries for public transport.

Passengers will be able to commute around Bur Dubai island using the creek and water transport to places such as Business Bay, Jumeirah, Al Wasl, Safa Park, Shaikh Zayed Road and even areas in Deira.

Future water transport plans being launched by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority will enable commuters to reach as far as Palm Jumeirah, Madinat Jumeirah and even Jebel Ali.

There will be three marinas in Business Bay while stations for passengers will be built along the creek to facilitate water transport users.

Water transport is part of the RTA's integrated public transport plan which will interlink Dubai Metro, public transport buses and the ferries to ensure smooth public transport in order to reduce traffic congestion. It will be one of Dubai's major attractions both for tourists and residents.
