Dubai: A variety of finance options available to Nakheel means the company will not be pushed into going public, Chris O'Donnell told Gulf News.

He said the company is estimating the extra capital that an IPO would bring against the requirement of public companies to fully divulge information.

"The real advantage of an IPO is that you source capital from the markets and grow your business in a way that you weren't able to in the past," he said.

"We're in a position where we have capital that can be sourced from a number of options – an IPO, debt capital on the balance sheet and no recourse project funding."

O'Donnell said the company is concerned that going public would reduce its ability to respond quickly to market needs.
