Al Ain: An exhibition of aviation art was a unique treat for art and aircraft lovers on the sidelines of the Al Ain Aerobatics Show. The exhibition, called 'The Art of Flight', was organised by English artist David Bent. Talking to Gulf News, Bent said he was specially invited by UAE Air Force for the exhibition. The exhibition covers a wide selection of Bent's aviation art. His collection can be viewed at the Royal Pavilion from 12pm to 7pm every day. The exhibition features images of aeroplanes photographed by Bent at various air shows that he used to create this collection of original work. The extreme modernity of the aircraft and their character lend themselves to unique graphic treatments. Bent has experimented with these to create an exciting body of work.
Born in 1950, he is an innovative artist whose work has been included in private collections around the world. In 1999, reviewing a photographic archive spanning 35 years, Bent began experimenting with photo collage, using his extensive collection of photographs to create a new body of work. He first exhibited in 2003.
