The fact the United Arab Emirates decided to enhance the character of its youth by providing a strong sporting background was given shape in the form of Zayed Sports City.
Started in 1974 and completed in 1980, Zayed Sports City which houses some of the most prominent facilities in the UAE, is ideally situated at the entrance to the capital.
The main stadium, with its floodlit pitch and world-standard track, has seen some of the most prominent triumphs of the UAE, including a Gulf Cup win in January 2007.
