Peace treaty breakthrough
A dramatic breakthrough in the stalled peace talks between Egypt and Israel by US President Jimmy Carter means that Governments of the two Middle Eastern countries will begin studies on a draft peace treaty which could end three decades of war.

The breakthrough came, when Mr Carter met with delegations from both countries at the White House over the weekend. It means that the nine-article draft treaty now only has to be approved by Egyptian and Israeli governments and initialled for new meaning to be attached to the words: Peace in our time.
Dubai exports up by 44 per cent
Dubai's exports and imports last year rose by 44 per cent and 33 per cent respectively over the previous twelve months.
The Emirate's Ports and Customs Department says in a new report that Japan was the leading exporting country to Dubai with a total figurs of Dh 2,536.7 million. The United Kingdom, with Dh 2,109.7, million, was second and the United States, with Dh 1,336.9 million worth of exports was third.
Superstar Kevin is the envy of Europe
At the age of 27, soccer superstar Kevin Keegan has the whole world at his feet.
Since joining Hamburg from British team Liverpool in a Dh4 million deal. Keegan has gained international respect from all with anything to do with the game. His reputation is now such that the Hamburg-Keegan connection is the envy of every club in Europe.
Rodgers leads 10,000 home
American Bill Rodgers won the New York City marathon for the third consecutive year and Norway's Grete Waitz set a world best time for women runners.
Rodgers ran the 26 miles 385 yards through the streets of the city in two hours 12 minutes 11.6 seconds. More than 10,000 runners, the largest field ever in a marathon, started the race.
