Workers a threat to UAE
Foreigners, who outnumber UAE citizens by 18 to one in the private sector workforce in the UAE, are said to be posing a threat to the country's security and social fabric.
Planning Ministry study said there were 8,869 UAE citizens among the private sector workforce in the UAE of 160,672.

Beirut guns fall silent
The big guns fell silent in Beirut last night after eight days of savage fighting between Syrian troops and Lebanese Christians.
The ceasefire followed urgent talks in Damascus between Lebanese President Elias Sarkis and Syrian President Hafez-Al Assad.
70 arrested as soccer fans riot
Violence erupted at English football league matches, with rioting and fighting at one game ending only after six policemen were injured and 70 fans arrested.
Two police officers were taken to hospital, one of them unconscious, following street battles between soccer fans armed with stones and clubs in East London after Second Division West Ham defeated Millwall I3-0.
Forest smash Revie’s record
Yet another link between UAE football supremo Don Revie and English soccer was severed yesterday when Nottingham Forest stretched their unbeaten run in the English football league to 35 matches.
Forest never looked in danger against struggling Wolves as they racked up a 3-1 win to eclipse the unbeaten record held by Leeds United during Revie's reign at Elland Road.
