Rani Mukherjee arrived on the scene with the Aati Kya Khandala track opposite Aamir Khan in Ghulam and quickly followed it up with an award-winning performance in the blockbuster Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
Despite these huge successes, she did a number of inane films and was also criticised for her dress sense and bulky figure.
She revamped herself and won everyone’s hearts with a string of winning performances in hits such as Saathiya, Chalte Chalte, Hum Tum, Veer Zaara, Bunty Aur Babli and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.
But the pinnacle of her career was the film Black, in which she played the role of a deaf, mute and blind girl, which fetched her 2005’s best actress award at almost all awards functions.
Favourite holiday destination: Switzerland
Switzerland is one of my favourite places. It’s a beautiful place where you can wish your worries away.
The place is peaceful and quiet, with no pollution, and makes for an ideal break from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai life. The scenic beauty of this place can’t be expressed in words.
I eagerly wait for an opportunity to visit this country to enjoy the cool weather, beautiful locations and serenity.
Memorable moments in Switzerland
I think every time I step into this country is a memorable moment as I feel de-stressed. I am fortunate to have shot many films there.
In fact, the last time I shot for Laaga Chunari Mein Daag was a special moment, as I returned to this country after almost six years.
What not to do in Switzerland
The place is known for being pollution-free and care needs to be taken to ensure it remains that way.
