A tete-a-tete with a DJ ruling the turn-tables. This week: DJ Hani.
DJ Hani who has been a DJ in Dubai for the past seven years is now all set to take up a job in the aviation sector. But Hani will continue to DJ as it is his first love and prime hobby.
Is it true that you are going to work in a 9 to 5 job in the aviation sector? Yes I am waiting for the appointment letter. But I will still DJ and continue to play at the Kandy Club and Mehfil group of restaurants.
I would define my style of music as ... A mix of Bollywood, bhangra and hip- hop.
My first big break ... When my boss Suneel B started a club called Club Desi and made me the resident DJ.
The DJ I look up to ... DJ Akbar Sami, he inspires me to do better.
My most memorable gig ... Was with UK-based RDB (Rhythm, Dhol and Bass) and Sukhwinder Singh.
Have you ever departed from Bollywood remixes ... I started my career with hip hop. But after a couple of years, I realised that Bollywood is where the action is.
I am currently working on ... An album of Bollywood remixed tracks. Talks are on with my inspiration, DJ Akbar Sami. DJ Notorious and Suketu might also jump on board.
What next ... Apart from being a DJ... I redesign/refurnish clubs. With clubs being closed during Ramadan, I will be hard at work to create new looks in these clubs
