A tete-a-tete with a DJ ruling the turntables. This week: DJ NYK.

I define my style as: Progressive. You'll always hear a progression in the tracks I produce.

The best thing about being a DJ: You get paid for what you enjoy doing.

What sets you apart from other DJs: My music

I am currently working on: A remix for an upcoming Bollywood movie called Runway. A remix album is also in the pipeline.

If I were to choose between DJing or producing, I would choose: Producing, because I was a music producer first and then a DJ.

My most memorable gig: In India, the New Year's Eve gig in Hyderabad in 2006, a gig at Poison in Mumbai and gigs at Fashion TV's official club F-Bar have been great. Outside India, my first international gig in Hong Kong was really memorable.

My take on the clubbing scene in Dubai: The clubbing scene in Dubai is mind blowing. The crowd is very lively.

What's the best thing that has happened to DJs: Final Scratch, Traktor and Ableton Live. There's so much one can do with these hardware/softwares.

Has portals like Facebook helped creative artistes?
To be very honest I am not into Facebook . But portals like Orkut have really helped. It gives the artiste a lot of mileage and gives a platform to showcase his/her talent.

About DJ NYK: He is touted as 'India's Youngest International Touring DJ' and is loving every minute of it.
