Diligent Thought
Diligent Thought, the latest talent to emerge from Dubai, will be showcasing their raw blend of 'real' hip-hop. As their name suggests, Diligent Thought will showcase the group's penchant for cerebral ramblings and pure word-play, paying homage to hip-hop's golden days whilst at the same time inspiring a positive future for the genre as a whole.
The long anticipated performances will be a seamless medley of original material, mixed with hip-hop classics and old-skool party breaks in these exclusive first of their kind live sets.

Jane Norman Catwalk Star Search 2008
UK style brand Jane Norman is on the lookout for 10 female and 2 male models ages 15 years and over. Winners will receive a modelling contract and a chance to walk the ramp in the Jane Norman Fashion Show in Dubai which takes place at the Kempinski Hotel on August 21. Female winners will also be given a Jane Norman wardrobe while male winner's clothes will be provided by the über-trendy Fat Face label. To enter, log on to www.facebook.com and join the Jane Norman Model Me group. Once signed in, upload your image in the photo section, along with your name and address, requesting Jane Norman as a friend. Once accepted, send Jane Norman a private message with the same picture by clicking the 'share' button, including your mobile number and e-mail. Kyla and Jay R
Two of the Philippine's biggest stars, Kyla and Jay-R, will be Dubai for a one-off concert.

Indian classical ballet
Those who want to celebrate Indian Independence Day on August 15 in true patriotic style might want to head down to Parampara, a classical ballet performance by Hema Malini, her daughters Esha and Ahana Deol, and their troupe.

This Hindi play is about Mallika, a young, beautiful, intelligent girl who owns a boutique with her friend Suchi Mehra. Mallika lives alone in a posh flat in Bandra. Life has been good to her professionally and personally, as she is going steady with her boyfriend Manav, whom she loves very much. But due to a misunderstanding, Mallika and Manav break up. When she finally gets over him, she vows not to make the same mistake again and decides to marry a man who is worthy of her love.

We all fancy cars, but how about one with wheels of gold? Your dream can definitely come true if you log on to www.souq.com. An exclusive gold-plated car, complete with high-end features and 18-inch wheels, has been put up for auction on this online marketplace.
The car, a 2007 wild red Toyota Camry, has wheels and chrome parts plated with 24-karat gold. The car can be bid for until August 13.
