Dubai executive named on WEF young leaders list Geneva: The World Economic Forum released the names of the 250 young leaders who have been selected Young Global Leaders 2007. Salman Iqbal, President & CEO of Dubai-based ARY Digital Television network has been named among this year's winners. This honour is bestowed each year by the World Economic Forum to recognise and acknowledge the top 250 young leaders (all below 40) from around the world for their accomplishments.
Dubai Properties awards top agents Dubai: Dubai Properties held its inaugural Agents Yearly Production Awards Dinner this weekend to honour top selling agents that netted up to Dh300 million in project sales. The first prize trophy was awarded to Zahed Real Estate, followed by Global Homes in second place, and Better Homes in third place. Billy Daly, Chief Operating Officer, Dubai Properties, said: "Dubai Properties has witnessed important changes and new developments in the past year, including the expansion of our regional real estate agents' network."
Gargash launches RTC Connect Dubai: Gargash Enterprises, general distributor for Mercedes-Benz in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, has introduced a new communications system that will raise the bar for customer service in the region considerably. The new software programme, called RTC Connect, is now installed at the Deira workshop in Dubai, and will be installed in all other Gargash Enterprises showrooms by March.
Al Khaleej output rises to 1.2m tonnes Dubai: Al Khaleej sugar refinery, the biggest in the Gulf, lifted its output by nine per cent in 2006 to meet increasing global demand, a company official said yesterday. The refinery boosted output to 1.2 million tonnes of white sugar in 2006 from 1.1 million tonnes the previous year, Cyrus Raja, al-Khaleej's corporate affairs general manager, said. The refinery is on schedule to raise white sugar refining capacity to 7,000 tonnes per day in 2007 from 4,500 now.
