Dubai: Emirates NBD on Tuesday launched a special credit card targeting small and medium-scale businesses.
Jamal Bin Galaita, Emirates NBD general manager for consumer banking and wealth management, said the aim is to provide more value to the card holders. "We anticipate that the card will become an indispensable 'business partner' to the business community," he said.
Only one card will be issued to a company's owner who can then ask for supplementary cards.
Objective
Galaita told Gulf News that "the idea is for card holders to use the card more and to increase the bank's market share."
"We have close to 350,000 credit cards and 600,000 debit cards. We aim to reach 600,000 credit cards," said R. Sivaram, head of the credit cards business at Emirates NBD.
"Our overall vision for the card business is to become industry leaders in the market," he said.
The card will provide a combination of benefits and features that include reward miles, business insurance, flexible payment options and expense management support.
The Emirates Business Credit Card has been launched in partnership with Emirates Airline's Business Rewards programme and Visa.
"Small and medium sized businesses now have the perfect payment solution for our online programme, and benefit from even more opportunities to earn Business Reward miles," said Keith Longstaff, Emirates divisional senior vice-president for commercial operations.
We anticipate that the card will become an indispensable 'business partner' to the business community."
