Dubai: The unsettled conditions that have affected most of the UAE over the last two weeks, bringing refreshing weather and cooling showers, have now passed.

The rains brought people out of their homes and saw children playing in the numerous puddles.

Weather conditions are set to remain settled for at least the next three days.

Dr S.K. Gupta, Duty Forecaster, Dubai Meteorological Office, said: "It will be absolutely settled for the next three days. In the early morning it will be a bit hazy with a higher humidity level, but there won't be any fog as such."

Despite the slight haze, visibility is currently more than 10 kilometres in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah and minimum temperatures are 15-16 degrees Celsius in Dubai and 11-12 degrees Celsius in Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and the Northern Emirates.

Northern parts of the Gulf are typically cooler.

In December, the average maximum temperatures in Dubai is 26 degrees Celsius, with the minimum average being 17 degrees Celsius.

"We have near-normal temperatures," Gupta said, "temperatures at night have fallen to 16.5 degrees Celsius in Dubai, so it's nearly normal."

Sailing conditions are good with light winds over the sea. A south-easterly wind will pick up late in the evening, but the skies will be clear. Driving conditions are good, aside from the slight morning haze which will clear by mid-morning.
