New Delhi/Ghaziabad: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), claiming to be close to solving the murders of teenager Aarushi Talwar and her domestic help Hemraj, on Tuesday conducted a second lie detector test on Krishna, an assistant at her father Rajesh Talwar's dental clinic.
"Inconsistencies in his statement have forced us to conduct the second lie detector test," said a CBI official.
Rajesh Talwar remained in judicial custody.
Krishna, who hails from Nepal, emerged as the prime suspect in the twin murders that have been a talking point across the country for more than three weeks. The premier investigating agency also suspected the involvement of one more unidentified person, an accomplice of Krishna.
Krishna had been working as an aide at Rajesh Talwar's Noida clinic for three years and was a confidant of Hemraj.
Aarushi, 14, was found dead in her Noida home on May 16. The police initially named Hemraj as the prime suspect and even sent teams to trace him. But his body was found on the house terrace the next day. The police then arrested Rajesh Talwar on May 23.
The CBI took over the case after the Noida police drew flak for their shoddy investigation.
The needle of suspicion pointed to Krishna, 32, after his first lie detector test on Monday stretched for six hours.
Investigators were also interrogating friends of the victims.
