Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces yesterday chaired a meeting of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
The council reviewed a memorandum by the supervision committee for the expansion of Abu Dhabi International Airport and approved its 2008 budget allocations.
It also approved a memorandum by the Finance Department and requests for financial facilities and a memorandum by the Department of Municipal Affairs on awarding contracts for the development of Al Salam Street and the Ring Road in Abu Dhabi.
The project involves construction of a four-lane dual carriageway tunnel from Mina Road to Al Salam-Al Falah intersection, as well as a tunnel linking Al Salam with the Corniche road.
