Riyadh: Saudi Interior minister Prince Naif bin Abdul Aziz announced that 14 Saudi nationals released from Guantanamo Bay arrived in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.

They are the tenth batch of Saudi nationals, detained in Guantanamo Bay, to be received by Riyadh. The release of this group puts the number of repatriated Saudi detainees to 118.

Prince Naif said that the released Saudis will be treated according to local laws. He said that the kingdom will continue efforts to repatriate all Saudi nationals still detained in Guantanamo Bay.

Interior Ministry spokesman Major General Mansour Al Turki said the group received medical check-ups at the airport and their relatives were informed of their arrival. The freed Saudi nationals have been taken to Al Hayer Prison, south of Riyadh, to meet their families.

Twenty-two Saudi nationals are still being detained at Guantanamo Bay. Three Saudis died while in custody. Reports from the detention camp said that they committed suicide, but a number of Saudi lawyers expressed suspicion.
