Abu Dhabi: As the amnesty for illegal residents ended, the Labour Minister Dr Ali Bin Abdullah Al Ka'abi warned that the ministry along with the Interior Ministry will impose tough penalties against those found staying illegally. Al Ka'abi said that the support given by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will enable labour inspectors to identify violators and bring them to justice. "The labour-related problems include violation of employment contract terms, failing to renew work permits for workers, absconding, hiring undocumented workers and the fact that some employers not only hire illegals but also help them hide from the authorities," Al Ka'abi noted.
