Dubai: The Middle East's largest gathering of activists from the international humanitarian field will be held in Dubai in April 2008, tackling themes including future crises, challenges and emerging trends.
At a gathering of board members of the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD), held yesterday, it was announced that the 2008 event will be held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, from April 8 to 10.
"With DIHAD 2008, we will strive to evolve further in creating an authoritative forum where policies and practices are discussed, agreed upon and disseminated a real point of reference for the entire international aid community," said an official.
Also present at the gathering were Ebrahim Bu Melha, Vice-President of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment and Chairman of DIHAD Higher Organising Committee.
