Al Habtoor Group signs contract for Palm resort Dubai: Al Habtoor Group said yesterday it has signed a contract with Khatib and Alami Consolidated Engineering Company for the development of its new hotel on the Palm Jumeirah. The new five-star luxury resort will feature 250 rooms and suites along with exclusive apartments and villas. It is being developed at a cost over Dh500 million. The resort will also have themed restaurants, a spa, an exclusive shopping arcade and conference facilities.
Rosewood Jeddah to open in summer Dubai: The Rosewood Corniche, a Rosewood Hotel & Resort in Jeddah will open this summer. The hotel claims a first in the Kingdom with its dedicated Ladies' Floor, created exclusively for female travellers. On this floor, female butlers will pack and unpack ladies' luggage, provide information about the city's facilities for women and assist in all other needs.
Swiss-Belhotel Kuwait deal signed Dubai: Hong Kong-based Swiss-Belhotel International Middle East and Kuwait Plaza Hotel recently announced the hotel management agreement of Swiss-Belhotel Plaza Kuwait. The management agreement is the first in Kuwait for Swiss-Belhotel International, a new entrant to the Middle Eastern market. Swiss-Belhotel enjoys a reputation as a leading name in hotel management, with more than 20 years' experience and global brand recognition.
DIFC Investments sukuk rated (P) A1 Dubai: Moody's Investors Service assigned a rating of (P) A1 to the proposed issuance of Trust Certificates (sukuks) to be issued by DIFC Investments via Dubai Sukuk Centre Limited, a special purpose vehicle incorporated in the Dubai International Financial Centre. The (P) A1 rating reflects the senior unsecured creditworthiness of DIFC Investments, as the Trust Certificates rely on DIFC.
BlackBerry launched in 20 countries Dubai: MTC customers in more than 20 countries will get access to the BlackBerry wireless platform as a result of an agreement with Emitac Mobile Solutions (EMS), the two companies announced. The announcement follows the launch of BlackBerry in Kuwait. Under the agreement, MTC and Celtel networks will have access to the EMS BlackBerry Launch Programme.
