Dubai: For those who want to challenge themselves by running up the 1,334 steps of Emirates Towers for charity, the 'Vertical Marathon' will be held on May 25.
The charity run is organised by Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) and involves raising a pledge of Dh500 to run up the 52 floors of one of the tallest buildings in the Middle East.
You can either do it fast or slow, so long as you conquer the 265-metre tower.
According to a health club manager, running a vertical marathon is difficult. "You also have to contend with gravity," he had said.
Registration will be on the north side of the Boulevard entrance at 7am. The marathon begins at 8am. The minimum age to participate is 15 years.
MSF will use the money raised on humanitarian projects in over 60 countries.
To register online log on to www.msfuae.ae or call 04-3458177.
