Dubai: The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority Chairman has asked the Dubai Metro contractor to make extra effort to finish the project on schedule.
Mattar Al Tayer, who visited various construction sites of Dubai Metro along with other senior Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) officials, praised workers for their dedication to complete the project.
The Red Line of the Dh15.5 billion Dubai Metro is scheduled to finish in September 2009 while the Green Line is expected to finish in 2010.
Abdul Majid Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Metro, briefed him on the work. Al Tayer mainly visited the construction sites of Metro stations at the Mall of the Emirates and Burj Dubai.
The Mall of the Emirates station will have the capacity of 11,000 passengers per hour in each direction.
