Dubai: The labour force flow to the UAE is soon to be systematised through regulations set by the Ministry of Labour in cooperation with the major countries exporting manpower.

Dr Ali Bin Abdullah Al Ka'abi, Minister of labour, is to discuss the issue with the major countries exporting workers on the fringes of the regional meeting of the International Labour Organisation to be held in Busan, South Korea, from August 29.

The meetings will revolve around four main issues, namely stressing the definition of the expatriate workforce as temporary and not immigrant, the signing of labour exchange agreements, determining the activity of recruitment agencies and emphasising the need for these agencies to operate under the supervision of the concerned official bodies in the respective countries.

Earlier, Dr Al Ka'abi had told Gulf News that he is studying the possibility of signing labour exchange agreements with these countries, to eliminate middlemen that recruit workers.
